Robbers pour bleach over woman

A WOMAN was robbed, severely beaten and had bleach poured on her by men who escaped from her home with cash and jewellery.

The 31-year-old victim was at home in Langwathby, near Penrith, with her young child when she was attacked on Friday evening between 7pm and 9pm. She suffered serious injuries to her arm and wrist and had bleach poured over her hands, said Cumbria police. The child was unharmed.

Two men are believed to have been responsible. One was believed to have a Polish accent and the other a Liverpool accent.

"We want to hear from anyone who may be able to provide information that might assist identify and locate those responsible," said a Cumbria police spokesman. "Anyone who has information but wants to remain anonymous can contact us via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
