Disagree Liam, the 1st Tomtom had problems with the mount wearing at the charging point but the 2nd doesn't.
Also the navigation software is miles better on the Tomtom, it is faster ans a lot easier to get started - you can start a route with just 4 touches on the screen.
Also the Garmin is massively more expensive, they don't supply a headset and it has had more bugs in the software where Tomtom haven't had any.
Plus Tomtom Home is brilliant, does all the updates, mapshare, map updates, speed cameras, live traffic.

Tom Tom dead easy to use and free updates via Tom Tom Home.

And like I said a Tom Tom One stuck to the Tank with a windscreen mount does just as good a job :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

(with a bit of Duck tape to make it more secure)

Hi   :-P
Ive the Zumo 550 Garmin and agree with all above comments so maybe you have to just go with what you can afford.  The zumo is more expensive but the garmin lets you do more.

Ive pictures stored on mine, music as well to listen to on long journeys (But will not accept MP3 format so you have to re-format the music).  Also you can store all your routes, download and update all speed camera sites, you do have to pay for this but highly recommended as you get alerts on the screen and if wearing earplugs you get a warning sound untill your speed is at the legal required speed but can be annoying.

The screen is easy to use and can be changed easily to view different functions with the gloves on and if you purchase a pair of headphones from Motrax you can plug them in and get directions etc loud and clear (They are like a set of earplugs - well worth the money and do a good job of cancelling the noise out).

Its easy to fit and I swear by them, long gone are the days when you have directions selloptaped to the tank. :iamwithstupid: :iamwithstupid:

id be lost without mine so up to you.
