PROJECT ZX10R
« on: March 26, 2007, 03:14:26 PM »

Hi Guys,

Well sorry for the delay but here we go...... :icon_thumright:

THE STORY FROM START TO FINISH EXLUDING EVERY FINE DETAIL.
well, it started with the purchase of a ZX10R 55 Plate, this bike was damaged by the original owner.

The Bike had suffered all round cosmetic damage, also the bottom block on the engine was cracked as well as side casings.
The forks were bent and the rear subrame also bent.

So I purchased this for a very good price, and with help i also managed to secure another 10R 04 plate with Top End Damage as well shown below.

This 10r looks not in to bad shape, WELL this was not the case as the Frame was split on the spars, also all round cosmetic damage and rear sub frame also damaged.................

ok time to call the DOCTOR
Next job was to get the bikes together and make a start, then ill try and explaine the best i can the process.

BOTH BIKE ARRIVE AT THE SURGERY

Then started with the 55 Plate 10, strip her down time. this was totally dismatled every nut and bolt / item etc...

The engine was in pretty bad shape and called for extensive work, The doctor had a spare HEART  [rofl] and we decided to take advantage and use it (3000) miles only.

So the 55 engine was also removed leving us with this........................  WTF  I SAY :crybaby2:

TIME TO START ON THE 04 10R
so similar process as before.................  NOW THE DOCTOR HAS GONE MAD...................................

Start to strip the 04 10R

  THIS IS NOT THE DOCTOR.....

OK NOW IM LEFT WITH THIS  :icon_scratch: :crybaby2: :crybaby2:  AND HERE'S ME THINKING I WAS HAVING A ZX10R

NOW WE START TO REBUILD......................

NEW ENGINE UPLOADED.

WE THEN BUILT THE REST, COOLING SYSTEM FRONT END REPLACED, BACK END REPLACED EVERYTHING  TO MAKE HER RUN...........................   SHES STARTING TO LOOK LIKE SOMETHING.

THEN DISASTER STRIKES
SHE WONT START.....................  THE DOCTOR  :icon_scratch:   & ME  :crybaby2:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:

:hello2: THE DOCTOR SUSSED IT, WHEN REBUILDING WE FORGOT TO SWAP IGNITIONS SO THE COMPUTOR WOULD NOT TALK TO EACH OTHER.. :hello2: :hello2:

AND THIS IS WHERE WE GOT TO................................  :icon_thumright:

NOW WE WHERE WAITING FOR THE PANELS WHICH FELT LIKE FOREVER  :crybaby2: :crybaby2: [whistle] [whistle] [whistle]

BUT THEN ONLY JUST THIS WEEKEND GONE, YEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA    :hello2: :hello2:  PANELS ARE FINISHED.

SO HERE ARE THE FINAL SHOTS GUYS...

SO HERE ARE THE STATS

55 PLATE, TOTAL STRIP TIME 3.0 HRS
04 PLATE  TOTAL STRIP TIME 3.0 HRS

BUILD UP TIME ON 55 PLATE UP TO STAGE OF STARTING AND THE DOCTOR TESTING DOWN THE ROAD WITH NO PANELS I MIGHT ADD  5.0 HRS

TOTAL TIME ..........11 HOURS.............WOW     :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

TOTAL TIME FOR PANELS ........... 6 WEEKS  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

THE END
