I saw this on another site and thought you guy's and gal's would be only to happy to help out here........

Some help please, I am currently running a camp in Helmand Province in Afghanistan and I would like to get as many people as possible to send my blokes( many are v keen motorbikers) your read bike / car mags. I appologises for the direct approach but due to having to cater for everyones tastes bike /car mags are not delivered as part of our Operational welfare package.remember females are out there serving too ....

The postage is free( upto 2kg), all it would cost is the envelope.

Note from OP - 2kg is approx 4/5 magazines

I know some guys on another forum have already sent a few parcels and they have said the post office are very strict on the 2kg limit but dont seem to be mind how many parcels you send

However, my concern is that if this explodes it could cause delays to the usual mail processes and may cause delays for their important Christmas mail 

For something like this i would expect a carefully coordinated approach or confirmation that this postal address is specifically set for this purpose

BFPO is not the royal mail bud, a few hundred parcels won't distrupt the awesome royal mail system

Afraid that Andy's on the button here guys.

Was listening to an article on the radio the other day which had an army officer talking about the huge logistics problems that all the well intentioned non-family & friends mail & parcels are causing out there & how the sheer amount being sent is already causing delays in guys getting personal mail being sent from their nearest & dearest back home. 

I can fully understand people wanting to show their support, but think about it, if you were out there what would you prefer to receive, an old copy of Superbike or a letter from your kids ?

A couple of valid points there, can we not agree here on 10r then to send by end Nov? Spread the word if you are on another bike forum and that faceache site also. Should still leave plenty time for the lads overseas to get their important mail from loved ones?

Good idea and understand what other have said about Christmas mail. Maybe this topic should be brought back up again after Christmas ??

Will send something sooner rather than later, suprised that you as a QM are doing this and not getting either the AQM or as is smore usual for you lot the RQ  to organise it!However having been out to BAstion on a number of occasions am only to happy to help you guys out.

Key point is there is no point sending them as they won't get there :

"It is with regret to inform you that unfortunately we are unable to deliver parcels to unnamed personnel or appointments and as a consequence mail has to be addressed to named individuals."
