I was told the same when I bought an RX7 Kitigawa rep several years ago from Hong Kong.

It  felt ok wearing it, but then a couple of years later I bought a UK Nakano rep RX7 (same size) and it was definately more comfortable.

So I rekon there must be some truth in what Arai have said.

would'nt have thought the shell would be different, no manufacturer would run three or four shell sizes! But the padding and lining i would thought may change!  :dontknow:

Its true - Arai do 3 different types for the 3 areas.
The shell is different as well as the linings are a different shape.
Dainese do 4 different shell sizes from the xxs to xxl as they won't "pad" out with thinner/thicker linings as it has a massive effect on how they perform.

as said before arai do 3 different shell shapes for different parts of the world.
asia,north america and europe.
as said arai uk will not provide any warranty or support and why should they when they havent supplied the helmet through an authorised dealer network with trained staff.
also the helmet is not road legal here in the uk because it has no ee 2205 marking on it only a snell which is not valid according to the traffic regulations governing helmets.

try getting your non uk helmet serviced at the arai racetruck and see what they say if you aint sure what people are telling you is the truth or dealers are trying to get you to just but a uk model...

I thought there were 3 different shells. Asia market as the head shape is different, USA and Europe because the shell is made to a different standard for the two markets. I know friends who have bought Arais while in USA and they fit fine. Its an old cliche, but if it fits then that's what matters.  They have had no issues with visors either as they are the same.

I find that very hard to believe. I'm sure Arai make the safest possible helmet they can , their boast is the helmet you buy is exactly the same as Haga's

Only going by what I've heard. I understand that it seems daft to make helmets to different standards and I'd love to be proved wrong as surely we all deserve the same level of protection.
