My Injury and my bike
« on: September 21, 2009, 11:46:06 AM »

So just got back from hospital for my evalution and I have to go back next Monday to have a plate put in. I'm going to be off work for 3 months [wall]

What I'm now toying with is selling my bike as I can't ride it and will struggle to as the right ankle is going to be very stiff permantly.

How much do you reckon I can get for my '07 black 10r all in standard? 10 - 11000 miles?

could you not wait till your back to full fitness and then see how you fill then  :icon_thumright: you never know it may not be that bad once your fixed up.
and then if you still fill the same then . well you can just do what you said then . that way it gives you something to aim for  :icon_thumleft:
fill for you mate take care and get well fast mate :occasion14:  try not to let it get you down good luck

It's my left foot Hammy.

The thing is I hardly rode it this year and now I'm asking myself is the price worth it. Also I'm off work for 3 months and my wife is going to be on Maternity pay so if I sell it I save the payments every month which helps us.

It all depends on what the short term disability insurance says. If I keep full pay or go to SSP.

Make your fuckin mind up James - you said it was your " right " ankle in your first post LOL

You sure this ain't an excuse to sell up and buy a Harley  [whistle]

In all seriousness mate - I do hope you can get back on it again but I also empathise with the " mouths to feed " scenario - not an easy decision to make buddy  [wall]

It's not the health I'm worried about guys. I drove teh van back and was stuck in a traffic jam took 3 hours to drive and then offloaded the van with two broken feet before I went to the second hospital.
I also have a shattered shoulder from a dirtbike and a croncrette wall incident.

It's the finance I need to see if the short term disability insurance from work will pay me out, if not I'm on SSP and my missus is going on maternaty leave next week for our baby due on the 6th Oct. So if insurance don't cover my salary we are very short. So to have teh bike sitting in the shed for the next 6 months doing nothing doesn't make financial sense.
