ZX10 vibration
« on: September 07, 2009, 11:21:19 PM »

has caused me number plate to (Nearly) fall off 3 times now  :emb:

Not that Im feeling it but the 10 has a R&G tail tidy and Im on me 3rd set of bolts, 2 plastic and one stainless steel pair. All have been vibrated lose by vibration I guess   :icon_scratch: Lesson learnt and some loctite in place now  :dontknow:

Any one else having or had the same issue as I is now wondering if its gonna vibrate itself to bits elswhere [whistle]

Oh how I luv riding my 10  :headbang:

Vibes....... haha, check out the search facility for threads about vibes.

My 10 has had bad vibration since the day I got it. It went back to the dealers several times without them even remotely curing them. In the end I gave up. Just try not to do too many long steady journeys. My hands go numb if I just potter about at a constant speed. Go as fast as you can everywhere and you won't get them. :icon_thumright:

Better still, velcro for when you feel those impromptu "naughty" moments coming on!

Isn't there something about engine mountings needing torquing up to stop vibration on some models?

My original 06 suffered massively with vibes, I wouldn't have even thought about buying it if the test model had the same problem.  I eventually told the shop I was going to reject the bike if they didn't cure it.  Using a combination of different bar ends (gixxer 750s) and silicone and lead shot in the bars seemed to cure it, it certainly didn't move to anywhere else on the bike, thankfully.  It felt like the bike I test rode previously.
