Thats the problem. They DONT do the job we pay them for. I pay them to keep my family and property safe at night from scumbags but thats too complicated for the braindead numpties so instead, they choose the easy job of throwing the book at otherwise law abiding motorists. When theyve solved every murder, rape, child abduction, assault, burglary etc, surely then, and only then, should they put the manpower and money they do into persecuting motorists! Priorities ffs!

ahh right i'm with you, have no other policing apart from murder, rape etc..... [rofl]

yea that makes real sense,a motorist doing 140+mph is law abiding?  [rofl],what about 60mph past a school at chucking out time,is that ok aswell?

think you  need to open your eyes or mind a bit.

Good points made by all...

I do love a top speed run though, dose anyone know if there anywhere you can go and do top speed runs on a runway or closed road with out the risk of jail, I've been looking at the 200mph club web site  http://www.200mph.net/ anyone been on one of these?

They look quite expensive and for that money I'd rather do a track day...

The trend for unmarked bikes is a bit worrying though. Certainly there have been cases where an unmarked police biker has goaded someone into a race.  Visible detterents have a much better effect on calming all traffic down, whereas an unmarked vehicle seems to purely about targetting individuals

they.....them.....it's their fault etc......  [whistle]

I speed as much as the next guy when on the bike and know the rules, I'd moan on here if caught as of course when I speed it's safe to do so etc   ;-)

So how many police do you want to fund then ?

All things considered it's a key protection service and will never deliver what we all want /ecpect.

When was the last time any of us helped out by providing evidence or concern or offered to help as a special or are we all happy to sit behind our computers moaning like typical british  [whistle]  yep, that's me, moaning and doing nothing about things too  :tongue3:

just read this from another fourm:-

I read this letter in this months 'Ride' magazine:-

'Did you know Warwickshire has no 60mph A-Roads left? A reminder that the petition against the proposed nationwide single carriageway reduction of the 60mph speed limit to 50 mph will expire on September 9th. This lower limit would be enforced by the latest SPEC's cameras (hence the tightening up of the number plate laws). So remember apathy is the government's best weapon! See      http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/noNSLreduction/           and oppose the blanket 0 limits. Terry Hudson'

The SPEC's cameras are digital, and record ALL number plates. The exact distance is known between pairs/sets of cameras so they can work out the average speed, so no slowing down for the cameras, then speeding up!

This has the potential to spoil all the decent roads, (routes around the Scotch Piper to the Hen and Chickens, The roads around the Denbeigh Moors, etc!!!)

Ive got some. Did Donny on 24th August. Posted some of my on bike footage in the video gallery. Take a peek. Im never gonna go club racing but its not too slow for a fat old(ish) bloke on a road bike! Dont get me wrong, i totally agree with you with regards to 30 limits, 40s and past schools but there are also a lot of stretches of road that are, conditions allowing, perfectly safe to do more than double the national limit.

Btw, you dont need balls to go quick on road or track. You need eyes and brains. Balls just get you into trouble. As they do everywhere in life!
