Operation Bishop
« on: August 25, 2009, 12:45:28 PM »

I was riding down the a49 two weeks ago when cars coming from the other side of the road started flashing me and my mate,so we hid behind a car and waited for the police. When we got to them they were checking speed in a national speed limit no house s anywhere lucky we had been flashed.Anyway they waved the car through and stopped us.They said we are running operation bishop due to reduce numbers of road accidents on the a534,a51 and a49 this is cheshire area.they said we had to change our number plates and take them to a mot station to get stamped then send it to them, if we get caught with a small number plate again we will get 150 fine and have to re register our bikes which is a pain.Would of posted this sooner but i have only just joined. this was on a saturday morning and i have seen them on a thursday night.

No mate i have been done before went to the mot place got it stamped then put my small number plate back on.This is a new thing they have brought out they are pissed off with people doing one and they cant read the reg, they even took a photo of the plate as evidence as a record, you have one chance then its 150 straight up.

They might be but its not the number plate what was bothing me it was the speed camera in the middle of nowhere it was national speed limit with no house s around in the middle of the countryside. It was out of order, if it was in a built up area with loads of kids around thats fair enough, they are just targeting bikers that are known to use them roads on bike meet nights just hope no one gets caught out because that is a particular fast bit of the a49.

Where on the A49 did they have the speed trap? I use the road some weekends so would like to know where to watch out for the cops.
