I attended a wheelie school some years ago....Used Bandit thous...... got front end up and travelled a bit in first gear, no problem but still too worried to try it on my 10..............Just incase etc............. Should try it on my supermoto I guess, but again, it is mine, I paid for it and the "What if" Fairy keeps popping into my head..... LOL...  :dontknow:

Just cover the rear brake, dont "pull" on the bars as it may come up funny, just RELAX and take it a step at a time, little amounts of clutch and throttle to get used to the bike lunging forward, then eventually more and more each time, in SECOND gear, do not try wheelie in first on a 10 (someone asked me the other day some wheelie tips at the oakdene and he said he'd been practicing in 1st on his R1!!!).

Always cover the rear brake while learning and then you can always push on it if it comes up a bit high. While learning though, expect to burst some fork seals unless you get the hang of it quick, it takes a while to get over the throttle closing syndrome (shutting the throttle off as soon as the wheel goes up, it feels like its high when its really only 3inches off the floor".

And remember. TAKE YOUR TIME do not RUSH anything.

this is the thing i cant cover the back brake its just un-comfortable for me and i never lift it in first normally on a 10 3rd or 4th gear on my old 600 use to lift it in 3rd
wheeling is either something you can or cant if it dose`nt come naturally dont bother as it end up messy.

I never cover the back brake either. tbh, as soon as you shut the throttle the front drops anyway, but its good piece of mind for beginners.

Different strokes for different folks. Ive got a tooth down on the front and 1/7th QAT and always lift it in first. I never clutch it up, as you can imagine, it comes up very easily on the power. This method would not suit everybody but it works for me. I just took my time, accelerating as hard as i could in first and gradually got happier with the feeling of the front being in the air. Im certainly no "wheelie king" so feel free to ignore my advice completely. I have a feeling most here will tell you to do just that and theyre probably right.
