phew my mate is fine he is on the touring crew and is still in Italy, but 1 guy killed and others in a bad way in ICU.

Sorry to hear that James, with all the H & S stuff that goes on it's surprising and of course sad when this sort of thing happens, feel for the guys family now left behind.

I didn't know the guy but when someting like this happens it brings hoime teh reality of what we do. I know some of the crew on the tour as they work for us as well and some of them I've known for a long time.
Luckily it wasn't our stage but the oppisistions. But when you hang 15 tonnes of kit over a band, like we had on Queen last year, it only takes something small to create chaos and something like this makes you sit back and rethink everything that you do second nature and just do can actually have disasterous effects.
