hi guy just bought an 04 zx10r, lovely bike have'nt ridden it much yet,and I just have a few questions for you long term owners.
1; frame cracking ,how much of a wide spread problem is it?I have been over mine with a torch checking and it seems fine, I did'nt know about this problem when I bought the bike , and I have to say I am a bit worried.the reason being, I can't seem to ride it without the front wheel coming off the floor quite often.I can lay off the big wheelies , I have a ktm 990sm for that, but it will come up under acceleration as I am sure you will know.
2; can I still buy a rear seat cowl for it from kawasaki.
3; clutch drag do the cables strech?
hope you can give me some insite in to these questions , particularly the frame , I have done a search, but mainly just scared myself.

clutch drag---- all cables stretch eventually, but if the bikes been stood for a while the clutch plates can stick a bit, usually a good run out loosens them. :icon_thumleft:

most that have cracked have been from crashes i think so keep it rubber side down and it'll be alreet.

my 05 went down last year and had no probs but 05's are meant to have beefier welds etc one of those things factory changes but won't admit too etc.

think there's at least 3 blokes on here with 04's that cracked after an off...

and yes can still get seat cowls from kwak dealers

Welcome,

I bought a green 05 seat cowl for mine recently, the guy was selling it because the green of his 04 was different.
