Hello to all. I recently took the upgrade and have stepped up a litre bike having been riding predominantly ridden ZX6R's for the last ten years of ever new models with the odd track bike thrown in such as RS250 (two of those) and a ZXR400. I have had an R6 too in the mix but mainly I have maintained a ZX6R and a second bike as track bike of the same model.
I bought myself a ZX10R on a 56 plate in top condition in May and later in May bought a second ZX10R of the same model to prepare as a track bike. I have not yet been able to track though it is nearly ready and a track day looms on saturday and a second on Monday night..... I am not the fastest rider in in the world, I ride in the fast group at Cadwell Park on track days and am at the slower end of that group.
I have stepped up to a litre bike because I am sick to death of riders holding me up on corner speed and then stomping past me on the straights to yet to hold me up in another corner and so and so......I think if I can corner on the 10 as quickly as I can on the 600 the power should keep me ahead of these straight liners. Just going to have to re think my braking points me thinks....And I have slight trepedation about how hard to open the throttle on the way out, don't want to be going skyward!
My road bike has Akrrapovic pipes with cans, now has braided lines and racetecs fitted, other than that is standard. Oh, in green of course.
The track bike is power commanded, Akrapovic pipes, cat removed with link pipe, braided lines, quick shifter, stubby rear resesvoir, racetecs, racing fuel cap, Brembo master cylinder and Gillies rearsets with clip on bars and has come with some spare wheels with wets on. It is now ready to go with pattern bodywork, in green of course and its looking pretty good now if I say so myself.
A big hello to one and all!!!
