I got rid of my sprint dampner for a similar reason. We were riding through some twisty roads in germany just near the ring and the bloody dampner locked the bars straight , i eneded up on the wrong side of a merc van with my elbow and knee running down his side panel to keep me upright, stopped the bike and then removed , have now got a GPR one on it and extremly happy with it.

i cant fault sprint dampers, i raced for 10yrs and always used them and they never let me down, the 1st bike i raced had 1 of the cheap kawasaki style dampers on it & that siezed at mallory goin thru the lake esses, result - 1 broken arm, 2 ribs & a switch to sprint steering dampers
