Advise on next purchase please
« on: June 02, 2009, 01:14:19 PM »

Greetings all. Just joined as a new member. I currently ride an ER6F having passed my test last year. I now feel it is the time to step up a gear and really fancy a sports bike. I don't know whether to go for the ZX6R or the ZX10R. I really fancy going the whole hog and getting the 10R but something is telling me to calm down a bit. Any advice will be greatly received.

Many thanks.

Tony.

hi mate..... i just got my self a zx10 its a hell of a bike !!! i had a zx636 for three year's and my new zx10 is my first 1000cc bike its a big step up from the zx636. You would find the zx6 alot different from you er6 , but at the end of the day its up to you... go down to the dealers and take the both a test run... they only go as hard as you twist em  Whatever you get enjoy.....

Hi buddy had my 10r 8 weeks now and its blooming brilliant, had a fazer 600 for 4 years, there's a massive difference going from a sports tourer 600 to a hooligan 10R you have to re train your self on how to ride as it handles and performs different, took a while to get used to. it turns in so quick and acceleration is fooking mind blowing! getting used to it now and wouldn't swap it for the world. pop down the dealers take one out for a spin. its worth taking the big 1000cc machines out GSXR, R1 Aprillia, I even took a busa out and the 10 came out on top for me. Whatever you decide on enjoy it just go easy on the twist grip!  :headbang:

Same here I did a test ride on the new 10 and a P8F 6 and was going to test ride the new 6 but the deal on the 10 was so good it would have been silly not too.

Was mulling over the new blade but I would have regreted it I reckon. Not because the 10 is better but I would have still wanted the 10 if that makes sense  :emb:

Dont know what it goes like yet was advised to run it at at 6,000rpm max for 600 miles.
