Well had a bit of a good/bad weekend. Me and a few mates decided to go to Santa Pod on saturday for a run what you brung day!
Took it easyish on the first go just to get the feel for it and got a 10.9!
Reaction time was +.6678 of a second so while all the cars were having their go i watched the lights for a bit to get a better feel for the timing of them.
Went out second time....revs are up...bam....+1780 reaction time! (my second quickest of the day), flew down to the finish and....10.3!
I was aiming for a flat 10 so getting closer!
Buggered up the third run my wheelieing too much and got a 11.01 (my slowest run of the day).
But then........
As i headed back to get my times i was threading through the cars, i turned right, went to straighten up and nnnnnnnnnrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh WTF! The steering damper locked up and i couldnt straighten the bugger so down i went! At 5poxymph!
Luckily i have quite a few crash bungs so damage was minimal: Completly fucked up screen, scratches on r/h side engine case and belly pan and a small crack where the top of the screen attaches on.
As bad enough i dropped it but it was in front of everyone! So yes i was 'that twat who dropped it'.
First time ive damaged my bike in five years!
Luckily, as i said, damage wasnt too bad, so i just popped off the rest of the broken screen and carried on, but without the screen there was no way of getting that 10 flat
I had 4 more goes after that and got:
10.4
10.5
10.4
10.5
So at least i was consistent!
Really dont wanna sound big headed here but apart from the drag swingarmed/turboed bikes i was quickest there, even without a screen!
So... my day coulda been worse, coulda been better!
And so...i'll put a post up in the 'Wanted section' aswell.
But does anyone have an old screen laying about they dont want? Or a really really really really cheap one? Money is tighter than tight at the moment since ive been laid off so any help would be greatly appreciated!
