well went out for the first time this year, a bit late i know but new baby etc
has encroached on my 'free time' if you know what i mean.
had a good couple of hours, was good to get tyres clear of that blued up finish that
they get over winter.
this year i have decided to try a few things out and possibly change my style.
1) braking with knees gripping tank to take weight of bars to allow free steering.
i tried this out several times. sort of worked if i was going to go straight on
afterwards. but if turning after braking found i realy didnt have enough time to get
into the 'hang off' position. steering was lighter through bars thow.
conclusion; get into hang of position before i brake.
2) last year during heavy braking found rear would leave ground and would make bike
unstable. tried using a bit of back brake just before using front. did seem to work
but must release rear brake once front is used realy hard.
conclusion; more practice.
i am always tring to improove my riding, and some times i think you can go faster
by not rushing things and being smooth. if i can practice the above 2 points and
include them i think i will have progressd a bit this year
one more thing, gear indicators are bloody great, by leaving the bike in a higher
gear at some islands where you go straight on after seeing no cars etc are
comming has made me smoother and quicker. eg use 2nd instead of going into
first when you thought you where in third. make sense
