New number plate regs in force
« on: April 30, 2009, 07:54:38 PM »

hi all, Just tol et you all Know that as of 27th April 2009 new numbr plate regs have been enforced into the MOT. Any vehicle regestered 0n or after the 01st september 2001 (bassically the new format XX51 XXX as apposed to YXXX XXX style plates) Must display the postcode of the plate seller and the BS AU 145d mark. Also no logos other than official GB signes, no shadowing or huneycomb is aloud either.  All us testers were informed the day before, so to save yourself any ag if you have a legal plate pop it on for the mot.  :icon_thumright: and  they have also made tow bars on cars and vans part of the test, corroded, fractured or unsafe tow bars are now a fail item. Hope this may save some of you some greif

its a load of $h1t. as some of u may no they tried doin this on cars a little while back,
and no suprise it quickly got changed back!!!

ppl who came into my work for test, who had bought the car from our dealership,
were gettin plates for nowt coz they bought the car from our place and kickin off when told there car had
failed.

so it wouldnt suprise me if this mot law quickly changes back!
coz how does a postcode make ya bike unroad worthy??????????????????????????????

yep been tried before

we can argue all we like, but to be honest if they want to do something they will

the postcode is there to prevent the maker of the plate doing illegal plates

but as already for sale we can all buy show only plates

I can understand condition and legal sizing but postcode !   what the hell is this country coming to  [wall]

next thing will be to only accept your poo if it's the right size or colour or you'll be fined !

what sort of life is it becoming and what will our grand children have to endure with no freedom whatsoever, it does genuinely concern me  [wall]

then again if rules weren't meant for breaking they'd have no purpose at all  :icon_thumright:

the postcode isnt to catch the owner of the car out as such

its to make plate makers responsible for the plates they make and so they are to the required spec

if not then they can be traced and fined for selling illegal plates

The trouble is if you use these plates, the camera's on the unmarked and striped cars are so bleeding good if you are ....ehm caught speeding there will be no excusing it ie it wasn't me occifer it was my mate,...wasn't me at all my bikes blue....................................bloody laws. Why don't they go after criminals and rapists!!!!!!!

Got pulled up in my car the other day because of incorrect spacing on my plate. The letters you could read clear as f$ck and weren't saying anything with extra dots or turned around numbers. Fined and cold chips all because he was having a VERY BUSY NIGHT.........obviously NOT FECKING busy enough twat

yep correct but those buyers/users will be the ones getting fines etc and mot failers

we know the rules, break them and pay if you get caught or do as required

not agreeing its right but thats the way it is

like when people get caught for speeding and then whine like fook about it, the limit is what it is, if you choose to break the limit and get caught then grow up and live with it

if they dont want to be caught then stay at or under the limit

traffic cops are there to police the highways arent they?
