Nail in it
« on: April 19, 2009, 09:17:51 PM »

Gett the bike ready (fri night) for a wkend blast every thing cleaned lubed etc then noticed a fookin nail in the rear ,
tried to get it plugged but no one would do it , went to the only bike shop in town for a new tyre didnt have any but would sell me a new set of dunlop race tecs but could'nt fit them as it was sat , !?!.
I live in a small town but for fook sake sell me tyres but not fit them !
Any way a round trip of 200 miles later on sat ,shiny new corsa III fitted to my wheel  so all sorted for the sunday blast , all went well got home cleaning the bike  and low and behold another nail in my brand new fookin tyre  [wall] .
If i did'nt have bad luck i'd have none at all ! looks like i will be buying some of that tyre seal crap ! :-(

BUMMER!!  Dont give up trying to find someone that will fix it......I had a ZX7-R a few years ago, had the puncture plugged and rode it into the ground, no problems.  Wouldn't recommend it if you are doing track time though.  If a bike tyre place wont plug it, try a car place.  Its the same repair.

yikes..............  sorry to hear of your bad luck pal  :-(

you'll struggle to get a tyre plugged on a 180mph motorbike and would you trust it at high speed ?  :icon_scratch:

Personally I'd bin it and get another as it's a risk I wouldn't take on a perf bike but maybe that's just me with my 'Sid Sensible'  hat on   :dontknow:

There's a backstreet car tyre place close to me that plugs bike tyres, the local main dealer sends punctures his way so they're not dodgy, they're careful with the wheel and don't chew the rim up either.  I'd ask around in your area to see if someone similar does them.

I wouldnt bet on that, my bad luck started on the day i was born and hasnt stopped since, that may sound a bit cynical but just ask anybody who has met me

cheers guys will get it sorted one way or the other.

The fact that it was at the end of the day after the ride was at least some consolation. :-S
