Out for a ride out with a few mates coming up too layby where an estate pulls out in front of me. I overtake it.

Now i am not sure what MPH i was doing but my mates were gone.

The estate was an unmarked rozzer, obviously going after my mates. I just noticed the blue lights behind me and thought F##K!!.

It overtook me and carried on.

My question is if they were concerned about speed i was doing would they have stopped me, or can they log it and i get a chap at me door

Sounds like he was more interested in your mates. The cop would have pulled you at the time.

Like Stevo says, sounds like you're in the clear.  If they do write to you, or pay a visit, dont accept any form of penalty.  You have a very good arguement.  If what you were doing was irresponsible and you were a danger to yourself or others, you should have stopped and dealt with accordingly at the time.  The fact they let you carry on, means that your actions did not justify stopping you.

Well if he passed you & disappeared off chasing after your mates, then I guess the real question here, is how come you can't keep up with them ?

Ha ha, i can keep up with them fine but was held up earlier from a couple of tourists so was catchin them up when said unmarked grey sabb estate pulled out  of layby in hot pursuit.
