Couldn't agree more thats when the racing was exciting to watch. the only problem is there is only one or two riders in the field that knows how to ride the 500cc strokers. could you imagine how many of the field would be throwing it down the road every round. these youngsters have only ever ridden bikes with some sort of electronic gadget controlling the bike for them.! Throttle wide open and dump the clutch at the start imagine them trying that on a stroker!  [rofl]

They wouldnt be able to.

Imagine it there would be carnage............high sides at every corner.

They would have to change the rules. The winner wouldnt be determined by who could complete a certain amount of laps first. But by who could stay on the bike longest

If it's such Ducati biased track then where were the other Ducati's ?  3 yamahas in the top 4 says to me that it's a Yamaha biased track ;)

I don't agree nobody has managed to be able to ride that ducati other than stoner and Caparosi. just look at how much stoner won by it was a fair few seconds, the issue is that none of the other manufacturers can get close to the top end of the factory ducati it pulls away down the long straight.

its interseting that Ducati throw their teddys out of the cot when they start losing and manipulate the rules to their benefit - just look at WSBK and BSB and th 1200cc rule.
for yrs they dominated the sport on the same litre, then when the competition caught up they changed the rules.

now in moto gp the use this desmo valve system that no other manufacturer uses and it apparently gives them a huge advatage to do with power.....

now flip over to F1 and Ferrari dominate the champoinship for ever and now theyre struggling they're complaining again about a hole at the back of a car that they never invented....

I think the italian engineers are indeed very clever but when things dont go their way complain and stomp their feet until they do.

i wonder if they'd be happy if japan found some new valve technology that started wiping the floor with theirs  or if they'd threaten to leave another chanpionship...

rant rant rant - i know but i do get sick of Ducati....

but i have to say Stoner can ride the nuts off that thing without crashing very often!!

but could he do that on that Honda 3 yrs ago????  no he kept crashing because he never had the same level of electronics to help....
having said that electronics dont ride the bike they just assist in some areas

Haha the desmo system  has been used on their  road and race  bikes for over 20 years and is so simple, it's nowhere near as trick as the pneumatics on Yams and Hondas.
As for Stoner crashing the Honda a lot, true he did but it was a last minute parts bin special given to LCR for him to ride. Anyone who knows anything about racing knows that HRC bikes have limited geometry adjustability. The frames are designed around the lead factory rider, if it doesn't work for the others then that's too bad as far as HRC are concerned

But not accurate. True for WSB, but as far as Motogp is concerned nearly all the rule changes are proposed by Honda

rossi's bike was every bit as quick in a straight line as stoners last year, the fact remains that he is the only ducati rider to threaten honda/yamaha.
also, don't forget the tyre laws were changed to suit the japanese mid season, which was un-heard of untill rossi threatened to go to wsbk, ducati are not the only ones who don't like getting beat.

stoner is undoubtedly the quickest rider at the moment, hence the look of dejection from gay-boy

ps.did anyone notice that hayden set the fastest lap of the race on the last lap? :icon_scratch:

whilst on the tyre conversation..
they are all racing on rubber developed for the ducati so obviously it will have the advantage..

yes toner is a great rider and will be one of the all time greats if you ask me....

personally i'd like to see  rossi go to ducati and see what happens then
