hi all , after a bit of advice ,  got my renewal for my licence through today and after all i have read and heard about people sending their licence to dvla for points off change of address etc  and then getting it back minus motorcycle entitlement i was wondering if there is any way of ensuring it comes back the same as it went. stressing about it more after reading mcn yesterday  .   if it happens to me i will not be sitting my test again for their fuck ups !  excuse language but it makes you want to up sticks and emigrate or just take no plate off bike and do as we please as after all dvla seem to do what they want  sorry for rant and lack of punctuation. on a brighter note i have just run in my 09 what a tool !!!

i have to renew mine every 3 years because i have nocturnal epilepsy, twice they have removed my bike licence but fortunately i always kept a photocopy of it and i have a dutch licence 2 so no0 time off the bike while they fucked about .

After getting well stiched up by two coppers my old fella ended up in court which resulted in him having to send his licence away to dvla to be endorsed , this was as well as a f***kin huge fine , the reason ....... he pulled out from behind a caravan to have a look to see if the road was clear and low and behold PC f***ckin plod came racing along no siren no flashing light and just missed him , all this while my old fella was doing 40-50 mph , i no this because i was behind him a witness to the whole thing as was my mate did it make a difference not a f***ckin bit.
The verdict as usual the police always tell the truth bollocks !!!!
Anyway got his licence back with its endorsement minus his bike entitlement ( passed his bike test 35 years ago) did they sort it out NO after being stitched up paying a huge fine and penelty points he had to sit a new bike test  resulting in more money and higher insurance etc .
F***cking DVLA W**kers !!!!!!!
sorry for the rant but it still really annoys me how these goverment twats get away with anything and we can do nothing about it .

I have epilepsy too and am just coming to the end of 12 months with no license. Counting down to April 29th. I fooking hope my license comes back with bike entitlement still there. You lot got me worried now!

The other shitty thing, which is starting to catch people out is the expiry of these photo licences.. the photos are only valid for 10 years and then we have to pay to have the photo updated..

Worth checking on to make sure yours is still valid - anyone know the penalty for an expired photo?

i think you would be dealt with the same as driving with no licence , so you wouldnt be insured either!! 

 mine is up 19th may so i am going to photocopy it all and when i send the new picture i will tick the lost licence section just to be sure and if i have to prove it i will send the photocopy if they say it isnt enough i will go to cab with my original but i will not send my licence to them until i have  my new one complete, what other choice do we have really .

in this country we are treated like shit by the idiots who are supposed to be fair and impartial, just by riding a bike we are automatically classed as criminals ,

is this a back door way of ridding the streets of us or is it gross incompetance
