Nah, just Kar Lee's idea for the monthly desktop that they do. But fook me I'd be tempted - the handling of the 675 and the hooligan engine from the speed triple B-)

Not all that surprising really, when you think of the amount of effort & dosh they'd have to spend in order to get a litre class supersports bike that'd be competitive, & then it'd need re-inventing every 2 years...

So I'd say they just figured that it wasn't worth the hassle & decided to stick to their profitable niches.   :dontknow:

I have been waiting for this bike to be honest...it makes sense...they have a brilliant frame and chassis on the 675...a brilliant engine in the 1050 Speed Triple....so why not combine the two?!?!

I have to be honest and say, I would be well tempted.  Would sound flippin great...and supporting the British Mark....come on Triumph....DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theres a few of last seasons race bikes starting to filter down now and I'm seriously considering it. B-)
Not a lot would catch it.
I reckon it'd give most of the BSB paddock a fright

You'd have to spend a fair bit of money on tuning it first - Triumph claim a max 130BHP at the crank for the Speed Triple & that's only 4 more than they reckon the 675 Daytona is putting out!

Plus there's more than a good chance that the heavier engine & associated mounting compromises (engines do appear to be rather different designs) would ruin the natural balance & steering that the 675 has.

Would be cheaper, quicker & you'd almost certainly get better results by going down the supercharger/turbo/nitrous on the 675 engine route, assuming of course it could handle the extra ponies....

Would be cool to see someone try it though, so don't let me put you off !   :tongue3:

Yes but the Speed Triple's lump is well within its tuning boundaries. They have gone for a high level of torque over outright power.
Its relatively easy to bump it up from there by quite a bit with just mild work.
WOuld need to have a more time on my hands than I have (and money) so unless its something I REALLY can't say no to then it'll have to wait.
