complete arse to be honest, but i still dont think he should have gone down for it.14 yr old lad on the back with no gear on so if he crashes thn its probable the lad would have been killed, but is that any different to a mum of 3 driving over the speed limit with her kids in back back unrestrained?? doubt very much wether she would go to prison.

Lucky he wasn't texting, he might have got 12 weeks.  His not being a lord probably went against him, as well as not being involved in an accident.

On the news tonight it saif that if a car would have pulled out or swerved then it would behighly likely the lad would've been killed - it would STILL be highly likely that he would be killed at 70mph!

Got to say with precious cargo on board, over a ton on a wet & busy road he was asking for trouble.
Most of us have been down the road at some point or other, coming off at that speed with your kid on board doesn't bare thinking about. Attracts even more attention towards bikes from plod.
It's a no brainer really, unless he values his lads welfare less than his own ego that is.
Serves the tool right, no sympathy from me.  [naughty]

The problem for me is nothing happened, and looking at the film nothing was likely to happen, he was speeding but the bike looked planted.  I think there are far better ways of dealing with things like this than filling up the already full prisons.  I'm assuming that his pillion was up for it, if he was petrified then that might explain the six months.

the bloke is an effing idiot for doing those speeds with a minor on the back and no mistake!!!

but...

to criminalize him by actually locking him up just to apease the marching 'morale' minority is a load of bollox.

its all about statistics and more people are KSI'd by food poisoning/bee stings than by sportsbikes supposedly 'gone rogue'

i commute about 150 miles a day (for 3 years) and i've yet to see a "6 zx10r/gsxr pile up" or a "blackbird jackknifed"

fuck 'em

Dangerous driving - NOT speeding was the charge.  He pleaded guilty and was convicted.  Penalty entirely in line with the long standing guidelines.  Harsh perhaps but thats reality.

The pillion was a minor to which the rider showed a complete lack of regard for his safety and rode in conditions that most would view as dangerous (120+ in the pouring rain).

Time and place - and that was neither especially with a minor onboard.
