help needed from zx10r.co.uk
« on: February 23, 2009, 06:35:03 PM »

ok guys n girls really need your help, at this moment in time i cant say to much about the who`s, whys and wheres so just a simple question.

Say for example where ever you live there is two motorcycle accessory shop`s next door to each other.
both shops sell the same items at the same price.

what would it take for you to always use shop A over shop B?

Price is a biggy Liam, but personal service more than that to a point. B-)
If shop A is good but he's a grumpy twat and shop B is the same of not much more but he's sound as and his service, coffee, tea, biccies, little "don't worry about it this time" would gt my money everytime.

great customer service and honesty.

for example there's a great guy near me who runs a moto cross shop, I have always shopped there in preference to the internet because he's an honest guy whohas even refused to sell me items in the past unless i've first tried to fix the failed part if possible , he's given me cuttings from mags to get last years clothing to save a few bob and overall makes time to chat even if you don't buy anything.

He provides friendly advice and is simply a decent bloke.

There are other shops in Chester where the staff  'what do you want' attitude pisses me off so I rarely go to them. so overall excellent customer service goes a long way for me,coupled with a choice for purchases rather than one brand helps too  :icon_thumright:

Good customer service and knowledgable staff  are a biggy for me..........used shops in the past and never used them again because of the service.

I would rather pay a few quid more and get good service than end up being served by a miserable sod who aint got a clue what he's talking about.

Also speed of getting goods that have to be ordered in and being kept informed if there are problems / delays. Theres nothing worse than being told a date of arrival and then not getting the item and not being informed by the shop.

All of the above.

Goes without saying really. Even if the shop was slightly more expensive but had a good general "feel" about the place then i would go there. I hate going into a shop and being hassled into thinking i have to buy something too - that's very annoying!

What they've all said mate  :icon_thumright: if the staff (irrespective of their clothing  :tongue3: ) are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to spend time with you, rather than just see you as another number through the door, then that gets my vote and continuing custom

Have to agree with all of the above.

I think its also nice if the shop is a sociable place to meet up with mates and hang out for a bit.
Ive seen some shops do a kind of "Play Pen" thing in the corner somewhere with bike footage on the telly, comfy seating, a few bike mags here and there and (of course) hot/cold drinks.
Sounds like a lot for a shop that just wants to "sell stuff" but customer loyalty is worth its weight in gold!

You could even have an events board up in the Play Pen area for people to advertise their ride outs etc.
Basically, make it a cool place with cool people, where bikers feel comfortable and the actual "selling stuff" will take care of itself.

Free BJ's would be nice  :emb:
