fitting a 55 will turn in faster than a 50, it will feel like a turd with a 50

Ive been told that the 50 profile helps the handling, on the 06/07 anyway. I always used a 180 section on my blade cos it felt better than a 190. That said, ive still got a 190/55 on my 10 and it feels fine but i will be trying a 190/50 and also a 180/55. Probably depends a lot on the make of tyre and how you like your bike to feel.

50 will be more stable at higher speeds on the straights as there is more contact area.55 will feel more stable on the bends,turn in quicker.

make sure it doesn't snag on your hugger when it gets hot though.

Speedo will be very slightly affected but only marginal. 2% tops i should think.

190/50 makes the handling worse on the 06/07. I went over to 2CT's on a 50 profile and it was crap. Weirdly, it was way harder to get to the edge of the tyre than the 55 and was easy to spin up. Went back to a 55 with the RR's and its crackin. Rock solid in the turns and no difference on the straights.

180/55 will feel the same as a 190/55 just the 190 is slightly wider.

nothing wrong with the stability when using a 190/55, not that i notice any way.

i have run 180`s on my 06 10 and never had any problems, though that was on the track not the road.
