It was loads slower than the SRAD 600 I had before it and was not even in the same ballpark as the 636 I bought next. I had never owned a litre bike at the time I had the 748. I've since had 3 different litres so would want a 748 even less now.

Yes, my 916 was slow compared to 600cc machines upward in a straight line but for road riding, none of my mates could keep up and they had R1`s,Gixxers etc....

I had a 996 road bike for 2 years.  .  Slow compared to the 10 race bike (slow as in looking down at the gearshift thinking something was wrong).  Brakes were mediocre compared to modern stuff and it felt heavy. 

Bloody awesome bike, Just a fantastic experience, best chassis ever (after a fair bit of fiddling and setting up) but just seemed to sniff out grip and you could just stick it on it's ear through the twisties and I used to leave litre bikes for dead, nice level of power for road riding as it was almost impossible to spin up the rear in the dry so the throttle was just pinned most of the time.

Just get one.....wish I had kept mine
