Had a thing the other day, went for a ride on my new zx10 the other day. it was about a week ago not too cold but cold enough for me to take it easy. had been out for an hour or so and was on my way home when i filtered on to M20 into middle lane saw 2 bike ahead accelerated not too fast and started to change from middle lane to outside about 60mph in third when the back started to spin and gentle fish tail. in the time it took me to tighten my own rear end the spin had stopped started again and just as i was thinking oh sh*t what should i do it stopped spinning and i carried on on my way. the roads were dryish and can only assume that as i had no input it was this new fangled wheel spin control Kawasaki point out isnt tracktion control but was i glad to have had it looking after me.

it works by checking wheel spin vs throttle control..... if you have a constant throttle but the rear wheel spins then it shuts off the power.....

this is the only sensor it has... this is why its a wheel spin control and not traction control.....

maybe the wheel spin control or maybe just the roads, i had that a few times yesterday when i was out, the roads where dry with no ice but they where dirty, sorta dust all over the road which caused the rear to spin then gain grip again and i just carried on my way, I am riding an 05 so no poncy traction control on that

Could also be the wheelspin heating thepart of the tyre in contact with the road. Warmer tyre grips again, localised heat dissipates quickly causing it to spin up again and so on.

Salt on the road acts as a lubricant, the white powder that you see on the road is residual salt, its slippy as a slippy thing on slpippy day when you apply a small tyre footprint a cold tyre and a fist full of throttle.
