well - hello there chaps and chapesses,
Been lurking for a while so thought it was about time I said hi.
After lurking around here and the other .net forum, it seems that there are a couple of big talking points:
* which year / gen is best
* highest top speed (thats not fair - thats mainly on the other US forum!). Many reports of speedo showing in excess of 299kmh
I know I'm a newbie, but I thought I could contribute at this early stage by clearing this up:
* the 08 is clearly the best. Everyone knows it really.
* highest top speed - I'll let you know soon.
A bit about me:
38yrs old - been riding since 16 and always commuted and used bikes daily, all year. Not so much now I work 1/2mile from where I live! Loads of ratty bikes in the past but did rather love my old Firestorm - grunty is an understatement - loads of fun.
Bought the Ninja completely out the blue. The missus said why dont we go look round a bike shop like we used to (pre-kids).
Yup - walked out having put a deposit on a brand spanker black one!
Collected a few days later and promptly taken for a blat to france for a day trip to run in to the 600mile service (already booked for the Tuesday). This was all a few weeks ago - France was freezing (literally) and wet - but 500miles was still fun!
The bike:
As I said - it's the black one, so it's the fastest one.
I love it dearly - easy to ride, lots of feedback, great tyres as standard, comfy and good god - the engine! Smooth turbine like - incredible!
Don't like - fluffyness at low revs and snatchy on/off throttle on mini roundabouts. PowerCommander here we come (when funds / missus allow!). Might go for a 16T sprocket soon ish.
The deal included an Akra can, so looking forward to that arriving!
