Heating
« on: January 05, 2009, 07:36:36 PM »

Ok, daft question time. My garage is bloody freezing and I want to put a heater in there to keep the temp up above zero. I was looking at one of these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sealey-Gas-Space-Heater-40-900-Btu-hr-LP451-garage_W0QQitemZ400022100397QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_Hearing_Cooling_Air?hash=item400022100397&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318 - but am not sure if you can leave them on 24 hours a day etc...

..or would this be better??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sealey-Eh2000-Industrial-Fan-Heater-2Kw-3-Heat-Settings_W0QQitemZ400015566437QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Hand_Tools_Equipment?hash=item400015566437&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Any one got any ideas?

Andy/Bunny I may need a favour shortly... :icon_thumright:

I was at a local garage on Sat and they had something similar, noisy as hell though  [whistle]

I don't think that you'd want to have that on all day and come on Dave, a heated double garage will cost a fortune to keep warm, surely you'd just heat it when you were in there working and then only for a short period of time to take the chill off

come on spill the beans, what's going on to turn you into needing the garage warmth  :dontknow:

maybe you got planning permission for the new one  [rofl]

They'll cost a bit to keep running I'd imagine.

I got a couple of electric oil filled radiators from argos, they don't cost a packet to run and are nice and safe. They won't heat up the garage like a space heater mind you, just enough to stop the frost from causing damage and to make it more bearable to work on the bike during the winter.

Maybe worth a look.
