Happy new year ladies and gents.

Just a quick one regarding  power commanders.  Am i right in thinking that there is a new version comming out soon if not all ready (i.e power commander 5). If thier is, is thier a price and if not out yet are there any prices floating around and do you think its worth waiting till it comes out as i was going to buy the pc111 this month. cheers.

No info on price but i hear it has switchable maps which is nice - mind you i don't think most would make the most of this function

I think it has switchable maps and also different maps for each gear. Nice for getting that last half a percent out of your bike but imagine the cost and dyno time to get it all set up perfectly.

Now I was under the impression New Power Commander has a Lan Oxygen/Co2 sensor and constantly monitors exhaust gasses and self adjust/maps to give maximum performance to your set parameters. So there is no need to remap if changing parts. Tony83 is having his headers modded by Racefit to incorporate a point to screw in Lan sensor (like on Gixcers)

it can also run different maps for different cylinders,

there was an article in perf bikes mag a year or so ago, a fireblade 05  i think had 'two'
regular pc111's fitted, a race pipe and made 175bhp, standard 145bhp.

maybe they had one pc111 patched into cylinders 1+2 and the other into 3+4.
in an air box on an inline 4 the middle cylinders 2+3 always get more air as the
inlets of 1+4 are shrowded somewhat by the sides of the air box.

i think its only available for 2009 bikes. page 8, fast bikesfeb 2009 issue.

spot on chaps, some quality info there, thanks for your time on this matter, sounds the bees knees thats for sure. will wait and see what it has to offer.

also cause a lot more modern bikes have 8 injectors (2 per cyl, upper and lower) and pc3 only can do one bank, thats why some trick bikes run two to do both sets.
