I've always wondered why turbo'd bikes always seem to have 2 exhausts, 1 big and one little - why is that?

Big exhaust is straight from Turbo exit, small pipe is from wastegate, basically a turbo bike will continue to make power as long as exhaust gases turn the impeller's, so just like a pressure cooker you have to vent off the excess pressure, otherwise it'll keep making pressure and self destruct!!, you set the wastegate by various means to the boost pressure you require, simple really [rofl]

Rob, might be able to save you the bother, as i may have my wheels for sale if i can find a set of Marchesini's etc.

So what your saying is if it makes too much boost then it's released via the smaller exhaust?
