went round to projex today to see Kev and get power runs.
had a run with my trackday yoshi = 162.15bhp @ 12303.8rpm / 78.88 ft/lb @ 8595.3
had a run with my akra = 163.93bhp @ 12477.4rpm / 78.72 ft/lb @ 8663rpm.
was well chuffed
bike is standard apart from end can. clogged airfilter aswell. bike runnung v.lean at initial throttle openings,
then rich throughout rev range. akra can feulled better than yoshi, average 11.1 yoshi and 12.1 akra.
akra just pulled away at the top end slightly, prob because it has a bigger internal bore than the yoshi. so
that helped engine breath better at top end, and helped lean out feuling a bit aswell.
wasn't untill about 11500rpm that the akra pulled away. not realy much in it and i doubt wether you would
notice it. i didnt at all realy.
Kev was impressed with the output and smooth curves. he overlaid 06 10r and 08 10r customer graphs, my 10r
was better than an 06, no dip at 6000rpm and the 06 managed 157bhp. Also mine was better than an 08
which managed 159. the closest 05 10r managed 157 and that was with a custom pc111 map. prior to the
custom map it made 154 with just a can.
to be honest i was expecting about 155bhp. when he showed me the readout i was chuffed obviously, but know
different dynos give different power read outs. but when he overlaid the other graphs i was in disbelief!!
so i will be going back in a month or so after i have fitted the pc111, k&n and velocity stacks for a custom map.
bike defo needs a custom map as its running v.rich. clogged filter may not help so the k&n should sort that
Kev and his dad are top blokes, real friendly and well into bikes. Projex do lots of fabrication and engineering aswell. some of the
stuff they do is mint. was like walking into 'british american chopper'
highly recomend them, how about a forum dyno shootout in the summer for local
