Should do away with road tax completely. Its a totally unfair system altogether. Should just be an extra fraction of a penny on a litre of fuel so the more miles you do, the more road tax you pay. Shouldnt be measuring co2 per KM, should be co2 per year. I use a damn sight less fuel in my Shogun per year than someone doing 15,000 miles a year in a Nissan Micra so why should i pay more road tax? Same argument for the bike, even more so!!!
You will never change a politicians mind tho cos a/ they dont give a shit unless it affects them and b/ they are all thick as fuck, its a requirement of the job, and wouldnt understand a reasoned argument if it bit them on the arse.

totally agree Jamma, pay for use is the way to go for certain and surely that's fair and in effect reduces the number of miles/polution as a direct result, it's a simple solution that addresses all the green issues  :icon_thumright:

It's all about money hidden behind a green agenda smokescreen for certain and why it can't be said honestly I really don't know  [wall]

You'll get no argument from me on that. The green agenda is just an excuse for more taxation and inflated fuel prices. Climate change is just a natural phenomenon and absolutely nothing to do with mans efforts whatsoever. Its gonna happen, its happened before, it will happen again. We didnt cause it and theres nothing we can do about it.
I suspect its more to do with making the most of, and being able to charge the most for, whats left of the oil reserves.

Im with jamma10566  [clap]

Everyone is using the carbon footprint issue to get more money out of us

They need to look at the bigger picture, and its not taxation :icon_scratch:

This environmental bullshit is in my opinion, directly responsible for the global recession we find ourselves in now!
