hello
« on: December 15, 2008, 04:34:22 PM »

Hello to eveyone
thought i'd just say a bit about myself.
i live in argyll and am waiting on an 06 ten in green being delivered early january, ive traded in my 07 vfr for it as the vfr just didnt leave me with a big ass grin after being out on it , dont get me wrong the bike was good just not great ( in my opinion).
Before that i had an 06 636 which i had from new and really liked everything about it whent to NW200 on it 2 up this year and had a blast.
looking forward to getting back on a sports bike as there are plenty excellent roads round about my area .
only one thing concerns me after reading some of the posts on here are the tens brakes really as bad as they are made out to be ?
cheers and well done on this excellent site.

Hello chap, welcome to here.
The brakes are not terrible on the 10, no actually they are, fade like hell and lever comes back to the bar after a bit of use. Brembo 19x20 master cylinder sorted mine.

Welcome to zx10r forum. My brakes aren't too bad. Depends on use, when hard braking they don't give complete feedback. It's a matter of what you are used to also.

the brakes are fine for road riding but like said already they can be a bit hit and miss, certainly not dangerous or anything like.

Most just upgrade to the brembo anyhow.

mne were a bit on the spongy side but were never really that bad where they had to be upgraded but once you've been on here for a while you'll upgrade until your wallet is empty anyhow  [whistle] :iamwithstupid:

Hello mucker welocme to here  :icon_thumleft:  Had an 07 bike and I fitted 07 zx6 calipers alongwith a set of braided hoses and the difference was unbelievable.  But, as previous posts have said, it depends on how you ride and how hard you are on the brakes on normal roads.  Try your new bike out for a while and see how it goes.  If you do decide to upgrade there's plenty of advice on this forum to help you out.
