emmm you rekon the geordie's are more used to the cold than the scots? have you ever been north of the border it's fukin cold.  My wife is russian(as i am sure i have mentioned many times before:) ) and she can't bare the cold of scotland.  The thought of underfloor heating is because of the kids and we need to replace the radiators anyway so .......

my floor is currently standard wooden floorboards with parkeet boards above them

mmm, maybe and maybe not, i just don't like the idea of screed very much so your idea may be te way to go forward, i could lay venting instead of floor boards and lay laminate over the top of the venting, that should do the job, i just have to checkthe price of venting but am pretty sure its cheaper than floor boards or the screed/tiling etc

Go for the skirting heating Bud, you dont have to touch the floor. Just tap into the original system.

I was looking at that but it doesnt seam to be as efficient as the under floor heating to me, in truth it seams a little less efficient than radiators if you think about it

Its the same as radiators but there are no cold spots as it goes right round the room, not just on one wall under the window. It heats the room way faster than normal radiators.
