my wifes just got in from work and has just told me theres been 2 crashes on the same part of the road i crashed on in the last week and there was a sign up there last week saying slippy surface because something had been spilt there,just wondered if i had a leg to stand on if i tried to claim on the highways department anyone know ?????????????

Debatable - depends on what was spilt and whether it was cleaned up and if so how. They've probably covered their ass by the sign but you can give it a go if its still bad and they should of cleaned it better or kept the sign up for longer. Ask your insurance and try and get them to chase it. I know someone here in Hampshire managed to srew the fuck out of a farmer beacuse of shit all over the road and lack of signage/ not cleaning it up. There is a legal obligation for it to be cleaned properly but I don't know the full sp.
