GSXR600K1.. yeh me too - coming from an RS125 until i passed my test. VRRROOOOOM !!!

Recently, a 2003 Ducati 999 really made me smile. Full termi system.. sounded like hell had opened. Lovely smooth and friendly power.. got me thinking about having one as a road bike and then just tracking the 10r.

I have to confess that when I bought the 10R I thought sort of  'yeah, whatever' about the alledged  power delivery and then when I eventually  opened it up I was quite surprised and yes it met with all of the hype , even the high speed weave too  :icon_thumright:  still loving opening it up 3 years on and that excitement remains  [pray]

I loved my first "real" bike, same as truescot a zzr600 1991.
navy blue and light blue, full micron race system.
handling not great but a peach of an engine in these days, screamed like a banshee.
memories right enough.

modern bikes, well actually I find it difficult to imagine what I would swap my 10 for that would give me more pleasure than that mental engine and top end pull it has. It has a lot of excitement per pound and I mean cash, not weight !!.
getting the lastest mv or ducati R is serious serious money to achieve what the 10 already has for what.... under 7 grand !!.
Just needs a wee tweek mod to the shocks and brakes and it's world class.

as much as I love my 10R, I have to say that this bike made me smile the most.

what a great bike with enough power and loads of fun, for me it was a great bike but just didn't work for me well not when I saw the 10r arrive on the scene.

yes it handled like a bag of potatoes but who cares

I recommend these for certain and would have another without hesitatation  :icon_thumright:

I've got one of them as my daily runaround bike, just mine is the proper full on MK1 version (rather than the nancyboy MK2  :pottytrain2: ) in full power black naturally !

As to which made me smile the most....

Most addictive was the ZX-6R F3 purely down to the induction roar at around 7k+ I just couldn't resist opening it up, ended up riding at silly speeds everywhere just to hear it!

Most rewarding was the KR-1S, but only if you were 100% up for it, anything less than complete full on commitment & concentration & they were a pig to ride, but when it all came together.....   :headbang: :headbang:

For sheer madness - RG500 great sound, engine & attitude all packaged in a frame built from alloy box section frame so thin that you wouldn't be allowed to build a greenhouse out of it  these days!

Best looking bike ever built & to be honest still my all-time favourite - GPz900R

But the one that made me smile the most ?  Simply gotta be the TDR250, a sheer hooligan & utterly hilarious to ride.

Riding around London I'd be giggling my head off & have tears running down my cheeks at the madness of it, out of London I'd still have the tears, but that was mainly due to the most painful seat ever put onto a motorcycle, was fine for 40 mins but after that.....

As others have said, i love my 05 10 but for grin factor my old TL1000S was the best. I had a pair of quill 3 race cans fitted and it sounded blooming superb, especially riding through quiet rural villages in the cotswolds  :icon_thumleft:

I remember riding into Birmingham and went through the queensway tunnel and the noise was awesome :icon_thumright:

First Blade I bought was a good bike that blew me away, then the first R1 raised the game again.
The 05 ZX10R still does it for me. Good combination of power and handling.    :-P

the grin factor of the c1h/c2h 10s are unreal......couldnt think of getting rid for anything else at present it jus turns heads and people mutter to each other as they stand and gawp at it.......but the best grin factor has gotta be.....casting your mind back to 17yrs old passin your test and slinging your leg over the LC 350....in black with microns, KN filter and ported......god it used to scare me shitless but what a tool in its day......and all for jus over a grand brand new.....what a tool
