emm, its 1.17 euros for a litre here atm (the cheapest i have seen it) which works out about 98 pence per litre at current exchange rates, however if you use the exchange rate at what its supposed to be at(about 1.5 - 1.6 euros/pound) it would be about 75 - 78p per litre, so a stron value of your currency doenst really change the price that much in fact for us it makes it relatively more expensive.

. In the summer when fuel prices were high the oil companies used the excuse that a strong pound meant nothing to them as all crude oil deals are done in $. Now the pound is weaker they use it as a reason to keep prices high.  Diesel is now nearly 15p a litre dearer. Again an oil company spokesman has used the excuse "Well the worldwide demand for diesel hasn't fallen like petrol has (americans cutting down on car use" so Diesel is in short supply. Horseshit !

Robbing wankers.

They don't  tell you that diesel is 50% cheaper to produce than petrol and its the massive increase in diesel car buying that has put the prices up as the fuel companies rub their hands together.

Yep that and this Labour Government loves it's buisness taxes, and almost every buisness relies on diesel for haulage
